Apicomplexan protists can form by products of digestion called hemozin. This can cause a yellowish tint to our skin. Although I think it's much more likely that jaundice may be an issue, it is worth considering that a protozoan may be contributing to your skin coloration. You would expect to see some UV radiation protection or be less likely to get a sun burn if you had this condition. Compare the palms of your hands to other people's palms. Yours would most likely be darker than anyone else's palms.
