I can't say what it's done for me in a positive light, because I don't know. I'd like to think there's something to it, but it's not evident enough to where I can really notice.
Though, I can say that I'm certain it's having some sort of action in my body.
When I first started, certain pains were more pronounced, and I had difficulty sleeping. The good news is that these side effects were not as frequent as others have reported. It was only a few days.
But, at first, I thought that the pains could have been a coincidence, so I decided to try a very high dose compared to what I was taking - 4 mg compared to 1 mg, just to see if I could "trigger" something.
Well, maybe 36 hours later, an area on my ear where I had a cyst removed, which was no doubt connected with my infections, given its abnormal nature, swelling, inflammation, fluid, all coinciding monthly with the new moon, that area decided to split open and start oozing some more of this fluid.
Now, I'd had activity there since it was removed, going on a year before, but nothing like this. It'd never been so sore, inflamed since, and had never produced any more fluid.
9 months of no activity as severe as that, and then it all of a sudden decides to split open again, a day or so after I took that high dose of Naltrexone. I am inclined to think the two were connected.
If so, that is pretty cool. I was worried about the cyst coming back in full, but, while it has been doing some stuff, it's not like it was before, and hasn't leaked much of anything since that first episode. It closed back up.
Cool, because, again, if they were connected, that means the LDN triggered my immune system into getting off its butt and doing something about whatever residual crap was left in there.
Though, the fact that I haven't had any more symptoms like that is, while comforting, also worrying. It's my understanding that once you get used to the LDN, its effects are relatively subtle. Still, I'd like to know it is still doing something.
Either way, I plan to keep using it, unless I start having adverse reactions, due to chemical sensitivity or whatever. I am not sure it'd be from the LDN itself at this point, because I am near max dose, but you never know.
Also, I'm using a whole form of the drug, a 50 mg pill with fillers and all, dissolved into 50 ml of water. Each ml is a milligram. It's probably not as effective as what the others get from compounding pharmacists or what have you, or safe, in the case of people with MCS (I suffer from this, but have been lucky with the Naltrexone). I ordered it online from an overseas person. It sounds sketchy, but desperation!
If you get their form, definitely start low. Start low anyway, but I get the idea the compounded stuff is probably more potent. (I see you're not starting it yet, but.. to repeat what others have already said, yes, start looooow!)
