ALL members PLEASE read.

Hi all,
I know we are all busy, have a lot going on while trying to deal with and heal from these infections, but we have posts going unanswered and new members that are not being greeted at all.

So, if you like the way this forum is, it's because we usually have great participation, and we need to get that back or we will be no different than other forums that end up with only a few messages being posted - and most of them going unanswered as well. Why? Because without the support we give to each other, that's what we are left with.

It only takes a couple of minutes to post a quick reply and welcome someone to our wonderful community - where we reach out to each other, even if we don't know an answer that will be of help. Even a few words of comfort can make someone's day. Imagine if your post, when you were desperately seeking some - ANY - help or words of comfort was left unanswered and how that would make you feel...

For new members, copy and paste my welcome message if you wish, or come up with your own - but we need to welcome new members and help direct them to the information they are seeking. Imagine how you would have felt if your very first post was ignored....

I know it's just my opinion, but we have one of the best support forums out there!! And there's only one reason and one way to keep it that way - directing people to the information they are seeking, or at least reaching out and offering those words of comfort, or a quick Hello, glad you found us!

I know we can do this!! Please participate!!!

Will try to be better :) I'm usually just on at work, not usually during weekends, since I don't have a computer at home.

Blueberry, please do take care of yourself first, then your family. We have a LOT of active members on here who can pitch in, although I do have to say that anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated!

Yes, welcoming a new member goes a long way. Point them to the "New to Lyme?.." thread.

Also, if you see a thread not being answered...and you can't help with information, you can always type 'BUMP' and that way it won't drop off the first page.

I'm stopping by (I think this is the right thread to do this) just to say that I'm so glad I found this place. You guys are doing such a great job! Even though I'm still new and don't really have the knowledge to help others, I find support here and it always makes me feel better (well, I stay away from the "I learned what Lyme really is..." thread for now :P). I also tried some of the Polish Lyme-related discussion groups and forums (I live in Poland) but it was a little disappointing - I can't say I didn't get useful information there, but those people are sometimes just... rude, they lack compassion and they tend to act like you should know everything and just refrain from asking "stupid questions". It makes me want to say "thanks, I already feel like crap without your help". So again, thanks for doing what you do!

good post. without caring members, no forums. I post less nowadays around, but still participate-not this forum, however good on the mod for recognising the members to have a voice and be apart of the forum. I wish the heart & cardiovascular had some more members; I was trying real hard to push it along; pratoman and chartreux have jumped on a bit, I guess the turtle is tired. sorry for the digress and extras!

I just want to thank this group for being so helpful and supportive. I am not new to lyme but I am new to this group. I find the experience and support of everyone here to be invaluable with what has been a nightmare relapse. I feel like I can educate myself and head into my MD's appointments with a little more knowledge. The info is solid and the support of my own frustration is so appreciated. ....With my first round of lyme, I had been in some online groups where the information was not reliable (crazy) and the personalities clashed ( think Jerry Springer meets Lyme rage!). I laud all of you for making this such a great place. I look forward to the day when THE CURE IS POSTED.... And we all just hang out to talk about our active lives!! THANKS TO YOU GUYS! Just wanted to let you know that from the perspective as a newcomer to this group, you guys are very welcoming and very informative and helpful. A veritable lifeline I would say,,,, THANKS!
