Contraceptive pills for pain control

I never used HBC so I am not the best person to ask. I am also against it.
Unless there is a life threatening reason why a person should be on it.
However, my opinion and way of viewing has nothing to do with what you should do...of course.
Some women benefits from it some do not.
I have the same issues with hormones causing major problems with symptoms prior to ovulation and all the way through luteal phase.
If I was on the pill I would never notice those differences as HBC suppress all that.

I too only want to use it as a absolute last resort however after chatting with someone with lupus today who also has hormone flares that no conventional tablets control except the pill. I do wonder what Lyme would be like with all that side of it under some sort of control and maybe i can't judge my progress until that side is dealt with. I'm thinking maybe my cycle of pains are not to do with the Lyme cycle but the hormone cycle and that part of it is Lyme induced auto immune issues (I do have positive ANA like many others). I have previously complained that regardless of treatment I still have the same cycle of pain that is more dictated by the day of the month rather than treatment. Treatment sometimes feels useless because of this cycle and the lack of clarity in regards to progress. The same times of the month every month I feel great and the same for feeling like poop!
At the same time you would hope regardless of the questioning of whether it's Lyme or Lyme alongside auto immune that treatment would resolve it eventually anyway.

One is dependent of the other so it could be a vicious cycle....I am not convinced my periods are ready to stop or that I am peri-menopausal yet I am...so all induced by lyme disease. If I fix or adjust hormones or thyroid is just not the issue to fix. I want to say that your ANA is up because your lyme.
On hormones talk....lyme aside. I think this approach is very individual. Your age, is there cancer in your genetic/ family ...smoker...some of those things fixable some other no really. I am too paranoid about excess of estrogen because of cancer in family. I even stopped hormones added food years ago (prior to lyme) because of my scare on this.

Yes I definitely think I will ask to get my hormones checked. Seems so hard for doctors here to initiate such simple things as hormone testing even though I have had this hormone related complaint a while. With all the tests I have had done they seem to much prefer costly ultrasounds, sticking cameras where the sun don't shine and even a laparoscopy but never once have these doctors requested any hormone tests!

LymeJo....you have to be a pain in the a** with doctor and request the testing and say anything that will get them to do it. They are scared of insurance companies so this is why they hold off on any testing, instead they trial and error with medication. It is awful.

I had FHS testing before I was plagued by Lyme (2014)....it was so hard to request. My OBGYN almost refused...she asked me why would you need that your hormones are unstable so the testing does not make sense. I told her I needed a baseline with some numerical values. I said it would make me feel better. She also pushed for the pill...then IUD....I said no, no, no.....she told me that charting my cycle in her opinion was too much work....but hey whatever rocked my boat. She could have cared less.
Most drs will prescribe and order a test if you tell them that you are anxious and uptight without not knowing.....you really have to push hard for that. They tend to recognize depression like symptoms and they are quick to prescribe for that anything. LOL I am saying you got to play your cards right to get them to order you the test.
Abnormalities did not come in my test except thyroid value are a roller coaster of slightly abnormal and normal.....again I am not convinced I have sudden thyroid issue due simply to my hormones or getting older....
Yes I think taking care of lyme might take care of lots of other things I did not have before or I lived with it before.

Yes I've definitely heard the words .... So we will run this test to 'reassure you'! So patronising but at the same time if we have to pretend to be what they prob think of us already (anxious etc) then so be it as long as they do the frickin test!
You do get to a point where you are past caring what the non Lyme doctors think and use them for what you can. Sad state of affairs really.

Could you please tell me which abx do you take?
Because my LLMD told me that the pill could interfere with abx he gave me, and I have absence of periods, so the pill would induce it and would be really helpful.

I don't know, maybe I didn't understood him well. Because he was talking about disbalance in Lymees body, and that artificial hormones can make it worse. And my endocrinologist (not Lyme literate) instisted that I need to start the pill.
I don't know, I am so confused. Do you think I am able to start the pill while taking abx (Azithro, Mino and Tini)?
