I am a farmer and work with my hands all the time. I've noticed lately that anytime I use my hands with tools like a hammer or leaf blower...basically anything that vibrates or jars them, my hands swell up like balloons. I just finished blowing off my lane way and my right hand is double the size of left. Only was 20 min of work. Is this something to do with my Lyme.

Swelling of joints is on the list of symptoms. So sorry.

My orthopedist would tell you to ice before working and definitely after working to control inflammation.

Inflammation is what causes the pain also.

Swelling usually means inflammation. But, could it be you are allergic to something you are blowing? Or have you had an old injury in your hand? Lyme loves to hide in old injuries.

I would bet on lyme symptom though. The list of symptoms is horrendous and gosh did I rotate getting so many of them.

Make sure you write this down and ask your doc - just to be safe.

To top it all off I have had a terrible cold that has been going around my family for a month. Thought I would not have got it because of antibiotics but I was wrong

Sick on top of sick sucks! Antibiotics are great for bacteria but don't do a thing for a virus.

Boiron Coldcalm Homeopathic Cold Medicine usually works for me at the ONSET of a cold. Once a cold plants its feet, I just have to ride it out.

I have to sleep or I am a bear so nyquil, even with all the dye and carp in it, I definitely take it so I can manage the next day.
