I'll start by trying to make a long story short:
Along with a range of other symptoms since 2013, I've had a sudden onset of severe lower back pain that has been getting worse since 2014. It's a deep pain that is also in my hips and horrible during sleep and waking up...but gets better thru day. I never associated it with Lyme until an Ortho ordered a Lyme test, which was reported as positive in July 2016. I was referred to an ID doc, who did not diagnose but at least started me on 100mg Doxy 2x/day for 30 days. Not much of a change during, but after finishing the abx, the cognitive and neuro issues really started.
3 weeks off abx, I went to LLMD who put me on 100mg Morgidox 2x/day. I am now on my 10th day of that and for the last 4 days have been experiencing severe back pain and stiffness that is way worse than ever. also, I've now developed swollen knuckle joints in some fingers and toes, and knee pain that started in right knee only and is now creeping into left. I say the pain has progressed to being felt in one spot of knee to a total feeling of soreness in entire knee in a matter of a few days. I feel like if this is a herx, it is ALL pain and stiffness, with some fatigue and brain fog and mild low grade evening fevers.
What I seem to read about
Herxing is that it tends to be more "flu-like"? Just wondering if this would be considered a Herx, only through mostly increasing (and new) pain. I should note that this is the first time experiencing knee pain, even though I believe I was infected in 2013.
Thanks, forgive me if this is a redundant question, this is all new to me and every day is different.
