What would be the reason a Dr. would run a EBV and PARVO blood test in addition to a Lyme panel?

My Parvo IGG was positive (IGM negative)

The EBV Viral Capsid IGG & Nuclear IGG were both positive (IGM negative)

If I understand those results properly, that just means I've had exposure to both of those in the past. But what does that mean with Lyme?

Do you have actual numbers from those tests and the ranges? I know for EBV it is often reactivated with Lyme and co's. You should be very happy that your Dr tested as some do not and these things can impact healing.

Yes! I do have numbers and would LOVE any input!

He also tested:
HSV1 & 2 - negative (although, I've had Shingles 4 times in 5 months)
Prolactin levels - normal
Cortisol levels - normal

Ok so you need to be treating these other guys. Has your doctor spoken with you about treatment options for EBV AND PARVO?

How do he do the cortisol? If blood, then not really representative of your true adrenal picture. You would need a 4 point saliva test that's done in a 24-hour period.

Krimpet, Ok Thank you. I haven't spoken to my doctor yet. I go tomorrow morning. I'm sure we will go over it all then. I will ask him about the saliva test also. Thank you. It was done by blood.

It is mono, and I think it's just another virus that's been dormant that COULD awaken again due to Lyme. But I don't know that for sure.

Lyme is a immunosuppressive multiple systemic infection ...and viruss do resurface ..its like hep or hpv if you got it you got it ..igg means its been a longstanding infection and your body is not making the immediate antigens to it any more ..same with c . pneumonia or mycoplasm..or cmv these are opportunistic infections .and in a immunocompetent person no big deal..but to some with aids or lyme they are allowed to flourish and infect cells ..if you ever had a cough you probably have cpn ..if you kissed somebody or got vaccinated you probably have ebv and hh6.cold sore =herpes 1...aint saying just sayin.

I recently found out I'm EBV positive too and, to be honest, I don't understand it. I haven't talked to my LLMD about it yet, but testing for EBV doesn't make much sense to me as it is not treatable/curable (as far as I know, if you contract it you just have it in your body for the rest of your life). Oh, and I don't remember having mono ever in my life (well, if I had then maybe it was in my childhood or undiagnosed).

Lymebug and All, My understanding is that all Mono is caused by EBV but EBV doesn't always necessarily cause Mono. (Reminds me of those Venn diagrams from high school...you know, those concentric circles with parts of the circles overlapping).

I had Mono in high school and like many of us, have been misdiagnosed with Mono several times simply because my EBV has been high for years. So each time I went to a new incompetent doctor, he/she saw the EBV and concluded all my symptoms were due to Mono. I'm pretty sure that Mono can only be diagnosed with what they call a Mono screen and I AM sure that a person can only have Mono once in their lives.

So, to answer your question: Mono is not the same as EBV but is caused by EBV. EBV is not the same as Mono but MAY cause Mono.
