Hypothermia treatment for lyme

Has anyone tried hypothermia treatment for lyme? I saw a video where people in Aulstralia were going to Germany to get this procedure done to treat lyme. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this treatment?

that's hyperthermia, no hypo. meaning they make your body over heat. That being said, I have tried cryotherapy and didn't do anything for me.

It's not been very helpful for those that tried it that have posted here previously, from what I remember. It also has to be done in a medical setting, as it can cause brain damage.

We respond so differently.

I don't know if this applies to this concept (did not open the link yet) but as soon as I could safely prove that I could go to the pool without cracking my head open or drowning, I was given the seal of approval albeit under everyone's watchful skeptical eye, to go about enjoying the one activity that makes me feel happy and energized.

I initially wore rubber water shoes and used a cane for balance. A lawsuit was on everyone's mind I'm sure..Hahahahahahahahaha

I digress as Huddie aka Hubbie hahahahaha would say.

10 minutes in the hot tub, 10 minutes of swimming ( although at the beginning it was called doing the emergency / hope help comes soon drifting/ floating position hoping that the sharks don't come first).

Back and forth .....super hot.....cold.....super hot.....cold. For a whole hour. Man oh man did that fix me. I felt and still do like I could fly to the truck after each session.

The combo of hot and cold soothes my body and soul. I can now do laps and have ditched the water shoes. I wear non skid sandals and drape the cane over my left arm just in case.

Multifaceted me, you would love this. They always play music over the speakers. Great dancing music. The last ten minutes in the pool is when I dance, twirl, kick my legs (gently), move my arms and pretend that I am on the big stage. I also do Tai Chi in the water.

I could hardly bend my knees before doing the HC routine.

Please correct me if I am wrong but someone once told me that hot tubbing is like an artificial fever and kills bacteria.

If I skip a day or two max, I can feel the difference.

An interesting note, the first time I made it back to the pool AL(after Lyme) and moved my hands about the water, I felt an explosion of sensation in my hands, as though every nerve ending was standing at attention and vibrating. Over time, this has abated and only tightness remains. I have to constantly stretch my hands open to keep them from closing into a fist.

In a nutshell, heat and cold has been a massive help.

Respond as in responding to treatments etc. Not by answering/responding to a query.

I would not consider hyperthermia. Sounds harsh. The common theme here on this Forum is taking things slow, one step at a time, gradually building up, stopping when in doubt, reassessing, reevaluating. Heating your body to an excessive temperature. Youch!

It is referred to as Pyrotherapy. Its how they used malaria to cure syphilis ( A spirochete) before abx.

I am in Australia the media have pretty much told us that hyperthermia outside Australia is the way to go. There are several articles on google about it. I would post but my links dont seem to work in America.
A friend with lyme has just done hyperthermia here in Australia - we now have out own clinic. I dont think she knows what to make of it yet - its been 3 months and she is quite sick the Doctors have told her it has stirred up a lot and she needs to detox and build up her immune system.
In a recent show called "Tick Sick" there is the story of a young woman who did hyperthermia in Indonesia - the first time she was quite ill afterwards, the second time at $4,000 aud for a week long session she is fully recovered.
It sounds good to me but I think you need to be able to tolerate heat and cope with all the IV antibiotics. Its not for me as things stand at the moment.
It sounds very intense and you can get worse.

Going from hot to cold does sound interesting too. I guess in theory the extremes might kill off bugs.

We have ozone clamshells here ...i have done a few sessions for detoxing ...at 110 degrees ...steam and ozone pumped in ,o2 mask on face ..they only let 30 mins ...it is intense .weak as a kitten but then felt good the next day....i should try it on abx day ...

buzz -we used to do dry sauna then run out and roll in 3 ft of snow...at 10000ft ...now thats polar shock tx ...
