Will the good days come back? UGH!

I had a few good days over a week ago. I was actually laughing some for the first time in a few years. I was going places and having lunch with friends. I was put on three antibiotics and within a few days, I am back to my anxious, tearful, can't get motivated self again. It feels like my central nervous system is in overdrive. I will be ending the three antibiotics in a few days and going back to pulsing the one I was one before. I pray the way I am feeling is temporary.

The three that I was taking at the same time are: azithromycin, doxycycline, and atorvaquone. The one I will be pulsing and seem to do well on is Cefdinir.

I have been very faithful about detoxing...Epson salt baths daily, dry-skin brushing daily, lots of water, ACV, Alka Seltzer Gold, curcumin, etc.

I have tried L-Theanine, lithium orotate, and Holy Basil (but only a few times) in an attempt to bring me out of this funk. The doctor wants me to try PharmaGaba in hopes it will help me sleep.

I have an elderly dog that we are going to have to make a decision on pretty soon and I know that is definitely not helping me. In the past, I would have been sad, but my sadness and anxs about my dog seems to be over-the-top. She has been there for me through all of this and my heart is breaking.

I am also doing a very, very slow taper off Xanax...so I am sure that is not helping at all. I am cutting about .04 mg (1/6 of a 25 mg) every 7-10 days.

Is this normal when a big changes are made in treatment?

Did you ever start to doubt that you didn't have Lyme, but something else?

Do you have any suggestions?

I want to be happy and upbeat, but I can't make myself be that way.

Sissy, we just had a huge full moon and for some, like me, that can really affect us. Our bodies are so full of water and the moon certainly changes the tides, so why not us?

I loved it when I finally had a good day and my biggest problem was that I would overdo those good days. I thought and felt like superwoman and did way too much.

It was a typical ongoing problem that I had. I felt good, I overdid it and then I paid dearly for it.

The cruddies would pass and then I would feel good again - almost euphoric and there I would become wonderwoman and do too much. I was in a horrible cycle.

Check and see if you aren't overdoing it. Lyme made me feel bi-polar so many times. I was either up or down and not often level.

Good hunting on the co's! What lab did you test positive through? IGG or IGM?

IGeneX...The Babs was the IGG (if that is what looks to be from an older bite) and the other one was IGM. I don't have my paperwork with me.

Sounds like you are still herxing. You should raise the amount of detoxing you are doing to see if that will help ease the severity of your symptoms.

But, you are right - with starting the abx all at once like that, the stress with your beloved dog. tapering off of Xanax and everything else, it's not 'unreasonable' to expect to have serious issues like this.

You should have a hormone test to determine where all of your hormone levels are - not just the 'sex hormones', but adrenal and thyroid as well - just to be sure. Then you would know what you need to supplement with and what you don't.

My doctor was hesitate to start estrogen and progesterone while starting treatment for Lyme. I see him on Dec. 6th, so maybe we can address the hormones again.

So many of my systems could be Lyme or hormonal. I just know that when I was on hormones they didn't do anything for my insomnia and anxiety/depression. That is when my doctor started looking for something else to be the cause. Plus, my history of strange symptoms that would come and go for the last few decades.

Unlike Lyme, I thought IGG for babs definitively meant past exposure and was not related to a current infection?

Sometimes the only thing that will show is IgG, even though the person has an active infection because the immune function isn't up to par to produce enough antibodies. There are issues with other types of testing as well that would explain why a person doesn't have an IgM response showing an active infection.

Our testing options are VERY poor.

I agree the anxiety/depression is the worse.

You can try using Benedryl. It works for some, but you can't use it for extended periods or in high doses.
