Dry eyes and decreasing platlets...oh my!

Hello all! I have been trucking along with my treatment. I'm on three antibiotics right now for lyme and bartonella. I have seen a bit of improvement with certain things and also other weird things pop up. For example, I have extremely dry eyes. I put drops in them several times a day, but they always are bloodshot and very dry. Any ideas or suggestions?

The other (more major) thing is that during my blood test two weeks ago my platelets were lowered. This happened to me when I tried to go on dapsone and now it is happening again. I'm on Bactrim DS for the bartonella (also a sulfa drug) and my guess is that's what causing the issue. My doctor says they aren't TOO low right now and he often sees that happen when you are on a lot of antibiotics, so I'm hoping and praying that my body holds up. Has anyone experienced lowered platlets? If so, anything I can do (supplements or food) to help try to keep them from falling further? I see my doctor on Thursday and plan to ask him, but this group is always so helpful with these types of questions! :)

Thanks for the info!! You are always so helpful...though I'm really hoping you are wrong on the additional coinfections. My hands are pretty full with dealing with the lyme and bartonella...really hoping not to have another one! :(
