Babesia Duncani, west or east?

I just talked to a researcher who was very nice but I don't think he's right when he says Babesia Duncani doesn't exist on the east coast. (I live in CT, have traveled to CO and NM) But the point it, my FISH from IGenex has been positive twice and the IGG came back positive too. I think he's wrong and I know that sounds a little silly coming from someone who doesn't have a doctorate degree but hardly no one knows anything about Babesia and its hardly ever reported so how would he really know? He also seems convinced it's self limiting unless you have AIDS or cancer so something horrendous.

My daughter was tested with the IGenex FISH way back in 2008. She tested positive for Babesia Duncani (WA-1). We live in Maryland, and Heather had never been to the West coast prior to her illness.

She had drenching night sweats and deleriums at night. She also flipped back and forth on her bed. It was very much a malarial-like illness for her. It took 6 months of debilitating treatment to eliminate those symptoms. The concept of "self limiting" doesn't seem to apply to her experience at all. One thing that I have learned about this illness is that there appears to be no hard and fast "limit" for some patient experiences.
