I would encourage you to keep your supplements/herb for boosting immune function going all school year long at least. My Mom was a school teacher, and I got every single thing that went around school for many years. If I didn't get it from my own classmates, I got it from her. LOL.
Otherwise, the other suggestions that others are posting are good, but I'd like to add in chicken soup!! Made with bone broth would be even better! There is real evidence that even just smelling chicken soup while it's cooking helps us recover from colds! It has to do with the onions and garlic simmering away.
Lots of rest, fluids and building up of the immune function is what you need too.
Onions, garlic and steam. Our homes' air is generally way too dry this time of year with heat on, which makes our mucous membranes drier. The mucous is the trap for bugs and viruses.
