Help Understanding A1298C

Hello All:

I would really appreciate any assistance in understanding a recent MTHFR DNA test result I received from my LLMD. It showed I was "homozygous for the MTHFR A1298C variant."

The NP at the LLMD office explained that this could make it more difficult for me to detox, but, with a lot of other items being discussed, I didn't get much detail.

Has anyone else with Lyme or co-infections been diagnosed with this variant?

If so, did it effect your ability to detox and what can be done to combat its effects?

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Newly diagnosed with Lyme disease and some co infections. Newly diagnosed but believe I've had it for some years. Any LLMD in Colorado? Thank you , Jaqueline8

Sorry you have Lyme disease, but glad you found your way here. This is a great group of caring,knowledgeable people.

If you'd like members recommendations, start a new thread titled: "Looking for LLMD in Colorado" .
