I had one done before I knew it was Lyme. My back was sore for a bit. But my back hurt worse after the spinals I had to get with my three c sections. If the puncture is leaking spinal fluid it can cause awful positional headaches. Sometimes a blood patch is used to help the hole get sealed. It's an easy and cheap remedy. I know about
it from childbirth. I don't know if they do it for LP.

If they discharge you, be sure to call your doctor right away and explain this to them. You may need to have what is called a "blood patch" or it may have just aggravated all of your other symptoms.

I'm sorry, Liamb - I'm not sure I understand. Do you have pain when you stand, and it's directly related to the Lumbar puncture? Or are you concerned you might have pain when you stand up?
Remember, the tingling sensation - as well as the pulsing - is what sent you to the hospital. So, it's not surprising that you still have that. That is a part of these infections and won't go away until you have had "enough" treatment.

I would encourage you to call your doctor and see what they will do. You will need to be examined to determine what's going on most likely, so we won't be of much help.

I think this is what i had many years ago. I guess they did not do the puncture properly because i was left with a headache when i bent over in particular. It got better over months. Of course the worst part for you is now. A week will make a big difference we hope. Yes, tell your doctor.

Take a look at this article - the blood patch is mentioned. Also it mentions making sure you are hydrated.
