I've been on IV rocephin for almost a month after 8-9 months on oral antibiotics for neuro lyme. I've been 100% asymptomatic for more than 20 days.
In this final phase, I am required to do anything that would trigger my symptoms. If nothing happens, I should finish treatment and remove the central line in the next 15 days.
Obviously, I am looking forward to get it over with. But I don't want to remove the central line, then have to go back to the clinic to put another line in because the bugs were only hiding.
My only triggers are receiving a massage and working out. I can't get a massage with the line on my chest. I can't do cardio either. So lifting weights.
Any suggestions about
triggering a flare?
thx

LOL! Gotta admit, we don't see posts like this often!! I'm so VERY happy to hear that you are doing so well though!
What about
something like oil of oregano? I know that it causes some pretty good herxes for some people.
Can you get a deep tissue massage everywhere but where the line is?

Thanks, Traveler. I am trying not to get my hopes up.
I can definitely try the oregano oil. I will see if I can find it at the health food store. Treatment has been super expensive.

I am afraid the massage could pull things .. it's not logical, just a fear

Definitely congrats!
I react to stress.
But, a couple of glasses of wine, a huge bowl of ice cream or a rich carb dinner with creamy sauces would definitely push me over the balance beam.

I wish I could have a glass of wine, Peteza, but not with the rocephin, I think. Maybe alcohol free wine. That's an idea.

Have you been on a cyst buster recently? If not...maybe discuss with your LLMD. That could trigger something.
...also have you treated biofilms?

Girlie, I was too flagyl in combination with other abx three separate times. The last time, for two months. I've taken so many abx, I don't know if any of them was fighting biofilms. I take Stevia throughout the day with tea.

Yes, Stevia has been discussed as a biofilm buster.
I can't comment on how to take it...ie empty stomach...with food...cold...hot... Maybe that doesn't matter.
