i have all the symptoms of an std but tested negative. Im worried previous antibiotics threw off the results. anyway, i found out i have lyme. Ive started treatment, my symptoms haven't gotten better after a month. I know sometimes it takes time, but I think i have something on top of lyme. Im worried about it being mycopplasma genitalium. Can lyme mimic stds? my llmd said she's never heard of this...

Absolutely it can mimic stds (or cancer). Lyme's nickname is "the great imitator" taking that title away from syphillis.

The symptoms are so wide range and diverse, that the common story is people getting test for everything under the sun and nothing turns up (until they test for lyme).

I thought I had SO many different things when I first got lyme and didn't know what was going on.

Symptoms effect the ENTIRE body (meaning yes, even down there if that is what you are worried about).

Are you still talking about the BV(Bacterial vaginosis)? If so, yes, Lyme can cause this type of issue, simply because it's messing with our hormones, not to mention the high dose abx that we use to treat these infections.

There's not a whole lot of information on BV and Lyme or Bart, but if you look at the Lyme forums, you will see that many women suffer with this. I know I did for many years and it didn't clear up until my infections healed the first time.

At the start of this, I also got a rash on my chest and arms. Went away, just burned a little the flaked off. Then my "STD" symptoms continued to get worse. Im on doxy, moxi, and rifampin.

Mycoplasma is a confection of lyme, and certain ones are an STD producing these symptoms. Im inferring I have this, considering I test negative for everything else. This also started two weeks after unprotected sex, leading me to think this. I am so lost. The doctors keep thinking I have BV, but BV comes and goes and my infection does not. Nor does it have that characteristic smell. But i read mycoplasmas are present in BV as well..

But testing negative for Lyme and any possible co-infections doesn't mean you don't have them. They are clinical diagnoses - they are diagnosed by symptoms - and not many doctors actually recognize the symptoms of these infections.

But, the rash on your chest sounds like possible yeast/fungal issues - have you been thoroughly tested for those issues? I know that they can cause issues for "female parts", as well as in other places on the body.

And, are you taking high quality probiotics as well? The abx that you are taking will require that you use a good brand and possibly need to rotate brands so that you get a variety of beneficial bacteria into you.

My LLMD said that i have no yeast/fungal problems. I am just so concerned and lost-worried this will never get better. I read someone who cured mycoplasma genitalium with rifampin and moxi, so I've been taking moxi for 3 weeks and i just started rifampin. It hurts so bad when i pee now-wondering if thats a good or bad sign for this.

Pain during urination is never a "good thing". I don't know enough about the abx, but I *believe* Rifampin treats Bartonella, and you are likely herxing.

Are you detoxing lots? Do you need some more ideas of what to add?

Yes, Rifampin does treat the Bartonella.

Moxi - as in the fluoroquinolone? I haven't seen that one used for bartonella, but others in the same class are:
Cipro, and levaquin are used...so maybe moxi will have an effect, as well.
