Article: Young girl receiving $100K Lyme treatment in Germany. Live spirochetes seen in her blood...

Interesting article. A young woman raised $100K to receive specialized treatment in Germany where they 'filter her blood' (almost looks like dialysis) to aid in removing the disease from her blood. The girl who had travelled to the US from Austrailia for a dance tour, was bitten by a tick on the visit. She was diagnosed with Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella in January and had been experiencing fevers, joint pain, fatigue, headaches and seizures. Here is the link to the story (will have to copy and paste as I couldn't make it a URL) The German docs actually saw live spirochetes in her blood four hours after drawing the labs.

The article is very interesting, I'm sure (I will read it), and I hate to interrupt, but I need to have words with you, Ms. Kate. I'm not sure if you remember. I'm not the most memorable of people. You responded to a thread of mine, I was seeking the help of a LL physician.

Did you manage to see that LLMD you mentioned having an appointment with after all? If so, how did things go? Is he nice, knowledgeable?

Not to offend, or seem creepy, but I will have my answers, ma'am, one way or the other. LOL.. jk.

EDIT: Now that I take a look, it reminds me of a video this girl put on her Instagram. She was receiving something similar to that. She was hooked up to all sorts of tubes, with one leading to a big bag of blood that was circulating. It was very cool, but very scary. It definitely looked like more blood than a person should normally have out of their body at one time. I wish I had taken note of her name now, so I could go back and try to look.

Very curious to see where that sort of treatment will go in the future. Though, with Lyme/co being so open to inhabiting nearly everywhere in the body, makes me wonder how effective just filtering the blood would be..

Yes, I saw his this past Monday and he was fantastic. I would highly recommend him. He diagnosed me with Lyme Carditis as well as co-infections. He added two new antibiotics (IM rochephin and zithromax M-W-F) and herbals (fish oil, curcumin, motherwort and specific probiotics). I turned off my email link on here because I was getting emails from spammers. I will try to write you directly.

I was a bit surprised that he didn't recommend testing by Igenex but he said even their tests miss a lot of disease and I would spend $800+ and the results would not alter his course of treatment as he is convinced that this is what I have. Since I am paying out of pocket as this provider is not covered by my insurance, I was fine with that.

That is great news. I had wondered if he would be very in tune with coinfections. Herbal treatment options as well. That's a yes! Awesome.

I need to get some medical history and a symptoms list in order then, as I won't be able to draw a vivid picture, at least not with words, in person, and I want him to make a similar conclusion with me. I can't leave without that.

Though, while he's not wrong about the testing, it's still a shame, as a positive test result would be nice. I'd like one, even after a clinical diagnosis was made, just to have it on paper.

Oh well, I guess it does save you the money. That's good.

I wonder about insurance myself. Hm.

Anyway, email would be nice. I have a few more things to ask, but I can't remember them at the moment.

I really appreciate all this, the recommendation, your assessment, etc.

I've seen similar type treatments before and frankly, I don't understand how filtering your blood or using specific light bands inserted into veins can rid you of a parasite that lives inside tendons and muscle. If this disease lived only in our blood, it would be much much easier to get rid of.

$100,000 for something that just doesn't have much logic seems outrageous. I certainly hope there is some substance to it and the poor girl gets some relief, but I just can't see the logic in treating just the blood.

I think I read she also did the treatment where they heat your whole body up. So maybe this was in conjunction with many therapies.

Oh my GOSH!!!$100k?? no way....um I had once per week of ultra violet blood irradiation I.V treatment at $100 per visit and did it for 8weeks! The blood is exposed to a very specific uv light that is known & proven scientifically to kill bacterium, fungal, and viruses-the treatment was used to treat ACUTE bacterial infections back before antibiotics were mass produced! Hospitals in the U.S now use U.V. light robots to disinfect patients rooms and O.R.

I read a book titled, "Into the light", that explains the history of U.V.B.I. for ACUTE infection...

With that said, there's NO studies done on CHRONIC infection, and/or the effectiveness of UV.B.I. for Lyme and Co's!

As I've mentioned above, I had 8 sessions, but AM STILL ILL, & still have fatigue, brain fog, memory problems, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, blurry eyes, ringing ears, pain where Lymph nodes are, muscle pain spasms & twitches, neck tension headaches, dental pain, joint stiffness, stomach squeezing pain , & air hunger(episodal)

Think of a bug zapped-the bugs are drAwn to the light, but after they're right IN the light, they die...So that'd explain why the UV.B.I doesn't work for chronic Lyme as the bacteria hide out in the Lymph nodes!

This type of treatment has been talked about before and the problem is that spirochetes also live in the bones, tissues, brain, etc. so from what I have heard it does not work. Hope what I heard was wrong.

Edit: For that money she would have been better off going to Dr. Thomas Rau's clinic in Zurich, Switzerland called Paracelsus.

Hi guys. I was looking for information regarding Apheresis (blood filtering/cleansing from heavy metals and toxins) and landed this thread. It was one of the treatments this lady had while in Germany (the other treatments were hyperthermia, stem cell transplant and IV antibiotics). hi bluelyme. looked for the information again and ... the price ranges from around 2T to 3T dollars per session supposedly.

for a healthy person it may be once every year or every few years, for lyme, I've read of someone having done it 20 times in succession (i know, $$$!!)

Amy Hilfiger described similar treatment in Germany documented in "Bite Me". She didn't mention the cost, but Tommy had the money to pay for it. Treating blood is great. But that's just the start.

filtering probably helps remove toxic stuff from blood, not the pathogens. Most of them are intracellular: borrelia, bartonela, babesia, all live inside cells. What would they do ? Take each red blood cell one by one, remove the bad pathogens then put it back ? LOL

If only they could do that, then i would readily jump in! Lol Yes, youre most probably right. At this point helping the body relieve itself of some of burden of detoxifying itself of heavy metals and toxins, and freeing up resources to fight the infections and repair itself, would be a positive way to go. Wish these procedures didnt cost so much.
