yay i got "regular" sick

I know im supposda celebrate a funtional immune sx ...so yay i am absolutely miserable !sore throat,runny nose slight fever ,head ache ... Its been years so i have a hard time discerning between cold /flu?

So i finally get to try that fire cider i made way back and make some chicken,quinoa bok choy soup for the soul...

Your cider and soup sounds lovely.

There has been a fuzzy line between the 'common' cold and the flu for a while. Confuses the heck out of me.
I always felt that the "flu" was sick to my stomach, achy all over, diarrhea.

Now those sx are par for the Lyme course. Get well soon!

Wow. Sounds like progress?

I haven't been "normal sick" for 20 yrs. Seriously, I have not developed typical cold or flu sx since I believe I was infected w/ Lyme & Co 20 yrs ago… I'm sure I'm contracting stuff but it ALWAYS manifests itself in my lungs as babs air-hunger type sx, then turns into bronchitis and sometimes sinusitis.

I think your immune system is doin a little dance!

fire cider = garlic ,chili,onion,propolis honey ,in acv with osha and ginger steep for weeks months ....whewwee!

Congrats. 5 weeks ago I got the flu and 2 weeks ago I got a cold. The flu brought out all my lyme symptoms but the cold suppressed it. Either way I think getting normal sick is an encouraging sign.

Hi all,

Ok, I could use some clarification here. Bluelyme, I just got regular sick 2 days ago (started as sore throat, now moving on to congestion and cough). It's the first time I've had a cold in 2 years, and I've been around plenty of people with colds, the flu, etc... Why is this good for us with Lyme? I'm intrigued! Thanks - and I guess congratulations?! smile

Many of us have impaired immune systems, meaning we catch the viruses, but don't get the symptoms. This seems like something we would want, but it shows that the immune system isn't strong enough to even fight the viruses (that's what the symptoms are all about - the immune system attacking and destroying the virus.

Some people don't agree with this, but I have found it to be true. I"m a carrier of chicken pox. I have managed to infect a whole school while in Jr. High School (I gave it to my brother first!), and treat my kids when they had it (twice each!) and never once developed any symptoms.

It is...not really sure why, though.

Several weeks ago I got a cold, too...only lasted a few days.

Wow this is great news for all of us that caught a cold recently. Mine only lasted about 5 days a few weeks ago.

Bluelyme so glad to hear you are sicksmile but please make sure you get rest and drink lots of fluids , your soup does sound good. Take care, Jo

Thank you all. Yes lyme n co is bizzaro world ...i have been doing lomatium ,homeopathy, low dose stinging(2 full sting) taps on accupuncture points and a metric fucton of propolis and im seeing improvement..lots of silver up my nose ...going for a iv vit c tomarrow after bees and juicing

well yay... me too! My armpit hurts. Never had that lymph swell during the flu/cold before. I'm so aware of what my body is doing now. Throat is sore. Nose congested. Just when I was looking forward to a good week, in the sun!

Dear Blue,

Your nose is stuffy, your head is aching, but you know it's not the flu.

You've had this before, but since Lyme it has been so long, that a cold is over due.

So dear sweet Blue, celebrate with a tissue or two, you're almost the same old you!
