We are not ourselves with Lyme and coinfections. It sounds like you know what you need.to do.

None of us want to do treatments that make us feel worse, but we need to push through to reclaim our lives that we long to get back to.

What are you treating, Lyme alone? Are you just taking oil of oregano alone?

Well, that sure sounds like a herx to me. Have you tried increasing your detoxing to cope with it better? I know that quite a few people will herx on Oil of oregano, particularly at the beginning of treatments.

Another thing is if you stopping the coffee at night doesn't help those crashes, you should get your cortisol output tested. You need to get a 4 point saliva test, so that you will know at which points in time your cortisol is too low.

And, I too have been that way back before I had any diagnosis. We have to remind ourselves that we are only continuing our misery when we have destructive behavior like that. We have a choice to make (and I have to remind myself all too frequently) to either help ourselves feel as good as we can at any given point, or worse - but it's definitely in our hands.

Well, I"m not sure about doing CE's without a binder, but to have run out of your binder when you are used to using them will make a big difference. Binders are very effective at lowering toxin loads. I would encourage you to get back to using them soon!

Try not to be hard on yourself. We have all had those days. One day I was so tired of all this self vigilance that I had coffee, ate sugar, had gluten. Ugh. Did I feel it. And guess what? I still had Lyme.

Perhaps tackle one thing at a time. For example: Day 1: stop the afternoon coffee. Day 2: Mix morning coffee 1/2 reg/half decaf. Day 3: you will probably be able to sleep earlier. Day 4: Get on earlier bedtime/wake up schedule.

It's easy to feel "what's the use." But eating well and sleep really help.

I once read something by Freud that really helped: "Self-sabotage = death drive, self-care = life drive."

Just wanted to point out that I understood you don't absorb the caffeine from coffee enemas in the same way as you do drinking it. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Also, coffee and alcohol are going to stress your adrenals, which sound stressed already. Traveler mentioned testing and that is very valuable to do, not inexpensive, though. But most of us need adrenal support to get through treatment.

And I'd bet your neurotransmitter functions (the feeling out of control, erratic behavior, ADD and depression and the "need for adrenaline") will probably improve, too. But it takes work to do it and first and foremost, you gotta incrementally get back to a day/night time schedule. Sleep is critical. Maybe ear plugs would help? That will be a challenge.

Regarding the neurotransmitter imbalance -
The feeling of boredom or adrenaline that drives the need for caffeine, etc. is really part of the imbalance, not something that you are making a choice about. Hard to explain but it's your body driving it, not your brain.

Again, once the adrenals are better balanced, it will be easier for the neurotransmitter functions to follow and help calm you down. But you also need to help it along with finding ways to be peaceful, quiet, meditate, read… anything that doesn't involve an adrenaline rush. This is harder than it sounds but once you change some of the things that you can, your body starts to cooperate and you start feeling better… and then it's easier for your body to also not fight you.

Also - have you had your thyroid function checked? We often have adrenal and thyroid imbalances simultaneously.
