So I'm still kinda new to everything, and because I didn't know about
lyme until I had been sick already for a few years I don't really know what my friend can do. Plus she's in South Africa.
She said she got bit last weekend and only found the tick 3 days ago. She has a fever now. Anyone know how it works in SA? I would just let her work it out but I'm not sure if she'll just get misinformation there like people get in the US.

She says that in SA they don't get lyme like in the northern hemisphere... She's not concerned at all :/

She has to be concerned to take action.
I just googled South Africa and Lyme and there is plenty of information there that confirms it's an issue.
Hopefully she will do this and research.

A family member of mine acquired African Tick Bite Fever while in SA a few years ago. He was only visiting for a month and was treated appropriately. Any chance she could use a different name to seek treatment?

Tell her to start taking Astragalus. It's an herb that can help treat Lyme, especially if it's caught early.
The dose is work up to 3,000 mgs daily, in divided doses - so 1,000 mgs three times a day. It's possible with her catching it this early that she will heal well. But, she shouldn't wait, so see what you can do to get her to treat sooner than later. Have her come on here (she doesn't have to have an account to read the posts) to see what she will wish to avoid, as many of us here have chronic Lyme because we didn't catch it soon enough (usually through no fault of our own).

Get that bite mark covered with a generous amount of antibiotic ointment for a period of at least 24 hours. Do this with all bites, always.
