Welcome Mary! It is a shame that you've been infected and untreated all these years. I and many others here know what that is like, including the parts where we are told we have other disorders which aren't really diseases, only clusters of symptoms.
We encourage everyone new to read our intro "New to Lyme?....start here". For really good advice accumulated over time by our Lyme Veterans.
Many of the Lyme Literate MD's don't take insurance, to avoid being sanctioned by the CDC, but more importantly because insurance won't very often pay for the long term antibiotics and treatments chronically infected need.
Please hang in here, you will get the absolute warmest and best support here, with tons of experienced wrought knowledge.
I take it that when your second test came back with mixed results you didn't receive any treatment at all?
I and others here that have been in your shoes for a very long time were not able to get benefit from antibiotic treatment and have turned instead into herbal treatment. There are a good handful of protocols out there. Herbal treatment may take longer sometimes, as you need to try a variety of things to see what works for you, but on the plus side much of it is more supportive of our bodies rather than taking the guns blazing approach that can be hard on some folks. Speaking again for long term infections.
You will get lots of good suggestions here.
