Electrical Sensation Increase

Hi. I added Rifampin to doxy a week ago and over the past couple of days have been experiencing an increase in the weird electrical current sensation / internal vibrations. Does anyone know if the Rifampin would be the cause of this? It is horrible and occurs mostly during the early morning hours. Starts in upper abdomen and travels up and down from there. Thanks for your input..

Because you just added another abx just a few days ago, you should assume that it's a herx and increase your detoxing. Did you start on full doses of the Rifampin, or did you start on lowered doses? You may have to lower your dose some to get past this, as well as increasing your detoxing.

I rarely herx with the first several doses, it's always like a delayed reaction, although for some, it can happen much more quickly.

Try lowering that dose of rifampin down some more, and increasing your detoxing. For those of us using herbs, sometimes we have to start with only one drop and have to carefully and slowly titrate our doses up. I've been that way with Japanese Knotweed - I think because it hits both Lyme and Bart that it's giving me such issues. But, no matter the cause, or the product, if it's causing too much herxing, then we have to go to lower doses and increase our detoxing to get through this.

And do realize that it's likely an effective product for you, so always make dose increases slowly and carefully.
