Yep, lots of ups and downs with these infections. The fact that you are seeing progress tells you that you are healing, but the ups and downs will continue until you get the bacterial loads lower in your body. The ups and downs won't have as severe swings and things should start to even out some.
Bottom line, the ups and downs are very normal!

I hope that your upward trend continues until these symptoms are just a vague memory!!!

Yes - I have a decent couple of days...and I think 'yay' - I'm finally turning the corner.
Then the next morning I wake up and "nope, not yet"
It's difficult dealing with the downs that follow the ups.

I just wanted to say that is exactly where I am now and have been for 5 months. Feel fine for days then bam, brain fog and anxiety. From what I understand the bactirea is coming out and we are killing it off. I am on a two week cycle of antibiotics for this. We go off for two weeks to let the buggers come out of cyst form and then we nail them on the weeks off.

Same. Having 3 semi-good (not in bed) days in a row. Trying not to wait for the other shoe to drop, but I know it will. I hate that.
