Igm was positive ...was she adequately treated?
I guess another wb would light up on igg now if her immune sx is working but may i suggest the dna connexions test to find coinfections too..borrelia will show up there if dna is present

That is a CDC positive lyme test. Was she not treated with that result?

she was never treated. The doctor thought it iffy. She had had mono. Now she is having problems with her shoulder.

Really? iffy with a CDC positive and symptoms that are consistent with lyme (mono).
That wasn't a LLMD, was it?

She now has problems with her spine and her shoulder?

I would get her into a LLMD for treatment if I were you.

CDC positive can be IgM or IgG

For IgM

CDC Positive if 2 of the following bands are present: 23-25, 39, 41

She did not have symptoms at the time. She was tested because I have it, and she had odd health issues with sugar. she had just had Epstein bar and he thought it might have thrown the test and wanted her tested in three months. She didn't want to.

Now my daughter says she has always had shoulder pain, but it has gotten really bad. An MRI just revealed degenerative spine issues (Schmorl's nodes) she is 23. So she just asked me for the lyme test and I dug it up on health vault.

I just sent her the test to show her doctor. She is now married and living in the DC area. She understands there is a good LLMD in Ellicott city, near by. But I think she is going to get retested. Her doctor just read her MRI to her today and was so surprised to find such an aged spine in such a young women.

Retesting won't mean anything. If she tests negative...the may not treat...and she needs to treat.

All it will mean, is her immune system isn't optimal and she isn't able to mount the antibodies against the Bb.

So I am curious. why do you say it wont mean anything? I haven't thought about western blot in a while. I recently did the Ispot lyme test. Could her test change that much if she has not been treated? what would the igG look like? all negative like she never had it???
Also, IgM is active, right?

Oh I always thought it was 5 igg AND 2 igm. Somewhat odd given that IgM is considered way less specific

I see Dr. J. in Shady Grove ( not the DC dr J.)

make sure she tests via Igenex. my test didn't meet CDC but I did test PCR (DNA) and it was positive.

Dr. J will treat based on symptoms.

The WB is based on your body producing antibodies to the bacteria.

Yes, it can change. If her immune function has decreased from being sick...then it could come up false.

Her IgG is already all negative.

It's her IgM that has positive bands.

IgM means active infection...yes.
A positive IgG can also mean an active infection.

Shoot me an email and I will check my list for names...please state in the email where you are searching. I don't have any experience with these LLMD's though.

You can also start a new thread if you'd like members recommendations. "Looking for LLMD in/near Columbia, or Ellicott City, MD...or DC.

There is Dr. J. in Washington, DC. He's one of the well-known, very experienced LLMD's.
