Question for the Mods

Could we do something like an "Introduce Yourself" thread? A place where posters and put information about themselves, family, location, etc. I would just like the opportunity to get to know everyone better. And considering that I often forget the names of people I know in real life these days, having a reference for everyone here would be helpful (maybe we could pin it?).

It may also help people find and connect others close to them.

Anyway, it was just a thought

Its against the rules to post personal contact information for security reasons.

So - unfortunately we can't do this.
While it would be fun to share a little about ourselves - the Mods would end up having to monitor the thread closely to make sure no one shared something they shouldn't (full name... address.., etc.) and I think we already have our hands full with this very busy forum. We all might not agree with what is 'too much' to share and the Mods would be left making the decision case by case.

As it is we do share bits and pieces of our lives - but I'm not sure it would be a good idea having a thread dedicated to that.

We also need to be respectful of what the Admin/Owner of this Forum intended it to be used for.

I have emailed Traveler for her thoughts on this - she has been a Mod a lot longer than I have and respect her decision.

Girlie is right about this - not only is it against the rules, but who would watch the rest of the forum? It would take up a lot of time, and I'm not sure how we would decide what information is not 'too personal'. While I purposely make it kind of easy to find myself online - I don't want much personal information put out there, as I do have people that dislike my being rather vocal about not only Lyme disease in general, but the way I healed. I just don't need them knowing more about me! LOL! As it is, I've been stalked online, and harassed by email. That's not something that I would wish on any person here.

I do think we should keep it private and guessing about the other members.Also, I would like to tell you, so that you have a laugh that first I was sure Traveler was a gentlemen, also PeteZa until they made some comments about gender, cosmetics, etc. This is why I sign my posts with my name, Ioana, or tell from the start that I am not a man.
