I have no idea. I have never tried it. As soon as I developed GI issues with antibiotics, I stopped the antibiotics and healed my innards. I drank a lot of bone broth to heal. Then I switched to herbs only to heal.

Term "motility issues" is new on me. My ignorance. Hard to tell if it is leaky gut because there are so many symptoms associated with leaky gut.

Don't want to back off treatment because i am losing body fat again, which really bothers me. But if there is a malabsorption issue, is treatment doing any good? There are signs of that with undigested food in stool.

Would like to do as Pete Za mentions, but don't want to lose ground treating.

Thanks for the brand name, Pete Za. I bought some but it has modified corn starch in it, which gave me concerns. Will look into Pacific brand.

Moderator Krimpet does a kind that has nothing but bone broth in it. No added spices or anything. However, the organic one of that brand had the spices. Weird.

My Pacific brand organic turkey stock has water, turkey stock, onion, cider vinegar and rosemary. No corn starch.

When Lyme hit me - one of my first symptoms was undigested food in my p--p.

It seemed like things were moving through me too fast...


That resolved after treatment started.

A decent high-quality probiotic is a must. For most, glutamine wouldn't hurt either. A fair amount of protein, if you can handle it. I think it's something like .6-.8 grams per lb of lean body mass (so, body weight that's not fat, however you calculate that). Healthy food options. I know a lot of grains, like the rice mentioned, and legumes can be hard on the gut. Healthy portion sizes, don't gorge yourself. Look into leaky gut diets. I forget.

When treating, I'd say that diet, gut health, and detoxing are the foundation for success. Of course, you want to be eating a clean, balanced diet, so as to minimize toxins, limit food sources for the pathogens, and meet your nutritional needs. I can't be bothered to provide any direct evidence, but you've heard all the raves about how a large percentage of a healthy immune system is dependent on GI flora. Detoxing is an obvious, too. Though, I'm a bit of a hypocrite, because I still struggle to tend to these areas. But, maybe that's why my input's valid? I didn't take care of these things, and have suffered for it.

If you don't take the time to heal leaky gut, not only will you continue to loose nutrients through the gut but all the antibiotics or herbals on the planet are going to help because the healing properties of both will not make it into your bloodstream, they will just wash out as waste.

Also, if you develop leaky gut, your chances of developing a Candida issue are greatly increased. And then if your taking antibiotics, your wiping out your gut.

I took about 2 months off of herbs to heal. After 2 years of treatment, I am positive it was the most productive thing I've done, because my body is stronger and I just feel better.

It's a tough pill to swallow, feeling like you're going backward in treatment, but trust me you are not, because your body is healing.

Thank you both. No problems going to restroom, but can tell there is a problem. Frequent peeing - that's really no problem . Will look into bone broth, leaky gut and email LLMD.
