My intestinal motility has been slow for years. Nothing the doc ordered seemed to help. After being diagnosed with lyme and bart, the doc said thats likely the cause and just make sure I drink plenty of water and get enough fiber (which causes me constipation sometimes, above what slow digestion provides).
My question regards stool though. And liver/gallbladder. Ever since treatment started almost 2 yrs ago, about once a month....sometimes less...my stool has a pale color. Well, 2 evenings ago I came home from work and went right to bed (I work 2nd shift) about an hour later I had major pain on the right side. I could hear gas rumbling so I massaged clockwise along the colon, trying to help whatever was in there out. Suddenly the pain got even worse and spread to my back, left abdomen, and lower abdomen. The pain was excruciating.
I knew from doc visits to test if it was gallbladder by breathing out and grabbing under the right rib, then breathing in. If it was gallbladder the pain would have escalated. But...it didnt. Ive had scans in the last 6 months and there are no stones.
Today I had a bowel movement, almost 2 days after that episode, and the stool was clay colored again.
Can abx be causing the stool color change? Even though the painful episode was the worst ive felt, im almost positive it was just colon pain and I was backed up. It happens a lot. Just not that bad. But the stool color change always bothers me. Why is it once a month(or less)?
Thanks.
