Is there anything a person shouldn't do/take/eat before a Lyme test to ensure accurate results? Thnx

Some people have taken Olive Leaf extract to stimulate their immune system. For a positive Western Blot , it does rely on your immune system to mount a response and produce antibodies.

Yes, Daisies - off abx is good because when you're on them, the immune system apparently isn't doing the work...but when you go off them, then it has to work.

Dr. J talks about it - that's part of the reason behind his 'drug holidays' - allows the immune system to start working again.

Thnx for the responses, I'm just 'paranoid' that somehow I'll end up with another false negative. I'm not on anything except taking probiotics, vitamins, my allergy serum drops and doing some of the detox stuff like lemons diatomaceous earth basalmic vinegar juice ect. She is doing the WB with the bands so if I have Lyme this should no doubt show up right? It's sad that I'm hoping for a positive on a disease isn't it... ugh

Unfortunately, no it may not show a positive result ....but hopefully it will at least show one or more Lyme "specific " bands which is enough to back up a clinical diagnosis of Lyme.

When I got my positive test result after 15 months of symptoms and oodles of lab work and specialist appts (2 endocrinologists , a Neurologist, a Physiatrist, a hormone specialist, an ENT dr. ) I walked in the door and my husband said "well....?"

I burst into tears..relieved and happy I now had something I could treat.

No, it's not sad for you to want a positive result.

(It sure beats MS, ALS, Parkinson's diagnoses)
