Has anyone tried tinctures from here?

The hot water was what made me question it the most. I don't know anything about making tinctures yet, but that didn't seem right. I was afraid it was too good to be true. Price was better than anywhere else. Thanks Traveler.

It does look like Buhner (or the person that owns the site) is listing it as a good place to buy herbs and tinctures from. But, because some of the places have the "*Recommended by Stephen Buhner." beside some of the shops, I would assume that if it didn't have that, it's not Buhner's recommendation, but the site owners recommendation.

I would still be concerned about the use of the hot water, and would want to confirm that from someone I trusted before assuming that it's still good to use. We do need to be sure that we are getting all that we need from each of the tinctures/herbs we use. No need to waste money on substandard products!

Considering ordering from these guys. I know the owner had Lyme himself and studies Buhner. Buhner mentions that some herbalists do a decoction of gou teng in his Lyme book. Also, doing both a hot water extraction as well as an alcohol extraction is a practice done by many herbalists with certain herbs in order to more fully extract the plant's constituents. Buhner also talks about adding vinegar to the water to increase extraction efficiency.

So as long as it's not hot water only, and they are not straight up boiling the herb, I think this would be an acceptable practice.

Please do. I just ordered gou teng--65 bucks for a pint is very good. They said their ratios are roughly 1:2, so they also seem stronger than most.
