This sounds just like my story... does anyone have any idea what she means when she says she "stumbled upon a holistic treatment from America while researching the disease online"?

Hi missy-i78,
Thanks for the good article I am so glad she found a treatment that has worked.
I cant be sure which treatment she used from the article but we do know that there is Buhner, Cowden, Jerrnigan, Beyond Balance, Dr Rawls,Dr Zhang's , Hansa center,, Bee venom therapy, and I might have missed some.
Those are some that people have had success with here in the states.
Are you currently treating?
Take care, Jo

"Lisa was eventuality treated by a specialist in East Yorkshire with antibiotics - but she says it made her feel even worse.
After three months of the treatment she stumbled upon a holistic treatment from America while researching the disease online."
so SHE TOOK ANTIBIOTICS first. Of course they made her feel worse, we know why.... But that's what many LLMDs do, they first nuke it with antibiotics, then put u to herbs and hope you will not relapse...

Doctors are trained to use pharmaceuticals. That is their schooling. I do not fault them. They also are not trained in Lyme Disease. They have a course in bacteria infections. I feel sorry for them sometimes. They get so hated by lyme patients for not knowing and I think that is sad....
Anyway, I think a lot of us relied on our doctors and took antibiotics at first. I did. I also did not last long on antibiotics, maybe 3 weeks? or 4? My body hated antibiotics and I knew it. I had to go in search of something else.
And like Lisa in this article, I slept one heck of a lot. I missed some weeks of my life just sleeping all day and all night. But, this is how my body has always tried to fight illness since I was a wee child. If I was not up and running around, my Mom knew I was sick or getting sick.
I agree with Jo that Lisa found an alternative to antibiotics. I am so happy for her. 14 years? What a long time to be so ill with no answers. Poor thing.

Thanks all, I wish it was clearer what the holistic treatment was. I also was treated with antibiotics at first by a doctor who says I should now be fine and there's nothing further she can do for me. So my own search for treatment continues, sigh.
I usually lose at least one full day a month just sleeping, and it's taking a toll on my sick leave at work. But I'm doing the best I can, working full time and trying to figure this out on my own. That's why this forum is invaluable!

You are tough! I was lucky to be retired when I got bit. There was no way I would have worked. I had a part time job and doing that was tough.
Missy, sleep when you can. I honestly believe we heal a lot when we are sleeping.
You can only do, what you can do. I had to let the housework go. For months there was no dusting. Hubby did vacuum for me, so I was lucky in that. I barely kept up with the laundry.

Ahh that's kind @PeteZa, I feel far from tough! I wish I could win the lottery so I could just give up work and sleep!
