Hi John's Mom - welcome to our community!
I'm sorry your son has lyme - but I'm glad you found us here.
You are wise to ask about
a Lyme dr. We can help you find one. For members' recommendations, you can start a new thread titled: "Looking for Pediatric LLMD in/near_____" and fill in the blank with the nearest larger city.
(LLLMD = Lyme Literate MD)
We encourage all new members to take a look through the 'New to lyme?.Start Here!" thread (it sits at the top of the page) - lots of good information in there.
So your son was only prescribed one month of antibiotics?
How long do you think he has had lyme disease?
Do you know about
detoxing? This is something very important - when the bacteria dies off - it creates endotoxins, which causes inflammation in the body. This results in a herxheimer reaction (a ramping up of current symptoms, and sometimes new ones appear).
The best way to remove those toxins, is to detox.
Here is a link to a site with a lot of great detox ideas:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlStart with a few methods and every few days add in another one...until he is doing multiple detox methods daily.
Here are some:
- Drink 8 glasses of water daily
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into some glasses (drink with a straw so not to damage the tooth enamel)
- take warm epsom salt baths
- dry brush the skin before the baths
- support the liver - eg. milk thistle extract
Is your son taking probiotics everyday?
