St Louis llmd and doxycycline question

Can you get a prescription from both Dr.'s? Each one probably won't give you enough or high enough dosage.

What are they offering?


It should be 200 mg twice daily. Take with food - it's hard on the stomach.

I'll check my file of LLMD's and see if I have one for St. Louis.

hi, i would recommend start with 100mg of doxy twice a day for a week, and if you feel more sick (as a result of a herx), then take that dose for 2-3 weeks, then increase to 100mg three times a day and see how you tolerate it, then finally take 200mg twice a day. it took me two months to get to the desired dose of 400mg per day. My doctor was always careful with not prescribing too high of a dose initially. it all depends on how you react to it.

also take a strong probiotic daily 2 hrs away from the antibiotic to protect your stomach.

and drink a glass with freshly squeezed lemon juice midday to keep your body in an alkaline state. lyme likes acidity, so that helps as well, and is also a good and ez detox regimen

Oh and I've seen no nursing during doxycycline, which I stopped doing a few days ago.. Which is really difficult on everyone.. but I'm going to try to keep supply up, I just can't help but to wonder if it'll be safe after. Will I really know if I'm ok along with the meds being out of my system? If I have no symptoms at the end of the treatment, would that typically be a safe assumption? I know lyme is a sneaky s.o.b. ruining lives so there is no"typical" so the closest thing to typical I guess...

If you treat until sign/symptom free plus 4 weeks - that is the recommendation.

And, yes it isn't 100% but it won't be 100% in another 3 months or 4 months after stopping either.


BUT - catching it early is good. I know many people who caught it right away and treated ...never had issues later on.

That is a decision only you can make - how long after you've stopped abx do you trust that it is gone.

I have been all over the world and the only doc that helped me get better is Dr. Simon Yu in St. Louis-that's who I would see

Apparently the most up to date medical protocol is 100 mg twice a day for 14 days.. and it was just repeated that lyme disease is not in Missouri so I can't have it...

Those are not Lyme Literate Dr.'s (LLMD's) who say 100 mg twice daily for 30 days.


LLMD's are 'specialists' for Lyme disease.

Oh yes, I'm going to find a llmds asap, I'll be emailing you and hopefully I'll get an email from ilads soon.. I didn't make it to the pharmacy in time but I am going to take it... In the dose recommended from ilads.. I can't believe this has become what it is..I want to believe the ductless I've seen that I'm fine but my gut says no

hopelessinmo - i believe Dr. Simon Yu focuses on parasites and dental issues. He often wants his patients to see a biological dentist.
