Getting a cavity filled. Anything to prepare for it?

Should I request a certain kind of filling when getting a cavity filled in?

Is this where people get the silver fillings, from cavity work?

Also on a side note I'm nervous about pain from the procedure but I've heard if you get your mouth numbed it's not a big deal. Anyone with experience from that?

That makes sense. I also got white fillings back when I had cavity work done.

I got fillings years ago but it's been so long it's hard to remember what it was like. I think I also used the laughing gas back then but getting the anesthetic seems easier and the more popular choice anyway.
