Online consultation

Hey all,

I'm on my last week of doxycycline right now. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to be continuing to treat for Lyme or not. The last 2 days I felt like I was maybe feeling a little better, but then today had pretty severe leg and back pain (took 1200mg of ibuprofen over 3 hours... not the best idea I know, but I was trying to get through my work day.) I haven't received my herbs yet either.

If I do decide to keep pursuing Lyme treatment I feel as though it might be difficult to get the doctor to prescribe more antibiotics especially if I don't have any improvement by my appointment next week. I found on the website treatlyme.net that you can do an online consultation with their doctor. Has anyone done this before? What was your experience and do you have any idea what the cost was?

When I received my negative ELISA I feel like the main reason my doctor here in Taiwan went ahead and prescribed me antibiotics anyway is because I told her about my telemedicine visit with an American doctor and she admitted that if he suspected Lyme he was probably more knowledgeable and decided to go ahead and let me try the antibiotics. I noticed on the treatlyme.net online consultation page they provide documentation of your visit along with recommendations for treatment. I feel like this would be useful if I decide to try and continue getting antibiotics to show my doctor here in Taiwan.

I don't want to pay too much for it, my previous telemedicine visit was through doctorsondemand and they charged $65 for 15 minutes. I'd consider doing this online consultation if it was around that ball park and if you guys think it'd be useful.

He will also talk to your MD briefly - for 5-10 minutes after the consult if you request it.

Is this a real lab test or like a bioresonance test? Do you know it?

Spinal test, sounds like the useless spinal test done in hospitals? I would NOT do that (it seems it hurts, and it's useless). Read more about that.

But skin test? I just suspect it's bioresonance? If yes, get the name of the device they are using.

I'm sure there will be people here that did that. I know Zyto, Asyra seem good, but I'm sure there are many other good devices.

I think bioresonance is a good start especially for COINFECTIONS as normal blood tests are not too sensitive.

And there are way too many possible coinfections, and testing each one of them may be too much work (besides, you never know if you got a different strain....).

I find stuff like Zyto is good as it gives you an idea of what you are dealing with.
They can see if the infections are disappearing or not, after treatment.

I don't know the accuracy though...

Jinna, I am unsure the exact type of test it looked like they ran if as and western blots on all of the different types of samples. Though one said it was a culture I don't recall which test they run cultures on. It's quite possible some of this is lost in translation.

Girlie, do you happen to know anything about accuracy from "joint fluid" ?

These tests are available at a research center/hospital I believe.
