Kefir Stomach Ache?

yes i had. all milk products create cramps , indigestion and inflammation for me. so i have given up milk&gluten =>> no more digestion problems AT ALL....

i know it is hard but u should try it and if it does not work, the cheese will always wait for you at the end of the grocery....

make sure to test Calcium levels if u go dairy free...

Have you been tested for SIBO? I had it and was told that probiotics make it worse. Might want to get that checked out, if you haven't.

For some of us, probiotic and enzyme replacements, probiotic and fermented foods can cause GI symptoms. Sometimes that means that it's possible you have GI microbiome imbalances, which can be addressed effectively with that supplementation.

Other times, your microbiome imbalance can cause die off reactions particularly from yeast/fungal overgrowth. And sometimes the die off symptoms can be pretty unbearable.

And sometimes, the reactions to that support indicates a sensitivity or other system issues like histamine sensitivities (kefirs are high in histamine).

The best thing to do is to start taking the probiotics or kefirs or fermented foods VERY slowly, in small doses, with a lot of detoxing that needs to include gut binders so that you can quickly eliminate anything that was overgrowth and getting rebalanced with what you're taking.

And sometimes, you have to push through early herxing in order to determine if you're experiencing die off symptoms, which will eventually subside the closer you get to balance... or something else is going on that you need to address... or a determination that the kefir/probiotics/fermented foods are just not appropriate for you or not appropriate at this time.

It just takes some trial-and-error and you need to proceed carefully. Herxing shouldn't be really bad and serious herxing shouldn't last for more than a few wks.
