British lyme disease patient goes 7 years undiagnosed with 'flu-like' condition

I have been battling the UK Health System for over 8 years with regards to the outdated testing and information!
I was bitten in Kruger National Park in 2008 and could trace the date bitten, month and year to the onset of symptoms. I have had 2 negative tests, which dismissed all my symptoms and then placed me into battling constantly and although M.E has been diagnosed, it has been suggested it was all psychosomatic...i was hypochondriac...it was due to sleep problems (that gem came from the last test from a registrar at the Tropical Unit in 2014) and have to constantly cross ref between M.E and Lymes for all GP's.
My health has deteriorated drastically...2 dexa scans show bone density problems...i was given bisophonates and had to be taken to hospital due to the effect on my heart and the fact they should not be prescribed with joint or muscle conditions....all the other main symptoms exist and at the moment my B12 levels are aroud 147...i have suggested it is Lyme related...no suggestion of addressing it!
I am now about to send off bloods to the Arminlab...i was pointed to this lab via Lymenation and the details they have regarding the fact that Africa is rife, but again dismissed by all and sundry.
I will hopefully get some sort of result to wave at health professionals and maybe move forward, but i am very negative regarding the constant round of denial.
It is like being in a living nightmare...constant battles and no help. My new GP was asked to supply a nurse to take the bloods (which i am paying for on benefits) and because i am chronically ill at the moment, i asked for it to maybe done at home. Flat refusal...drag yourself to the surgery, thats a private test you are taking!
At present blurred vision, depression and joint pain are at their worst ever.

It's not only the UK.

I've been to 3 EU countries looking for help: Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, and got none.

That was back in 2005, when I fell very ill.

We hear horrible stories in Australia too.

The problem is the diagnosis: no diagnosis, no treatment.

I fortunately found naturopaths and MDs who were willing to help, but they are NOT mainstream.

If one gets helped by mainstream, it's just short term, then cortisone, then they send you to the psychiatrist or for the round turn of all specialists - neuro, endocrino, gastroentero, gyneco if you're a woman, rheuma, etc - but the truth is : no one can help you.

No diagnosis = no treatment. That's all they offer.

And the nice comment: 'You can't have all those symptoms."

I spent 6 years waking up in the middle of the woods at night, being terrified of the rain, having 20 hour long panic attacks, hallucinating, dissociated out of my goddarned mind, with my head in my hands slumped in the corer of my room, rocking back and forth in total hysterics begging for it to stop. Took 6 years to get a diagnoses of bartonella yet they still dont know if i have more or not.

Aerose - you need to find a good LLMD. You have positive band 39 and 41 on a WB test.
