i think biological dentists are a bit of a scam. just my opinion (and i know magoo will shoot me for it!). i did my research on what they do versus a traditional dentist and i just don't see the material differences that would impact my health.
they are similar to anyone that wants to see a naturopath versus a traditional MD (though they can be both) so nothing wrong with it i just think the premium you spend (usually not covered by insurance) isn't providing equivalent value.
There is a difference in the dentist I see in my town and the biological dentist I went and saw out of town today.
When I voiced my concerns to my regular dentist over the root canal he gave me a few months ago, it was almost as if I offended him. He became defensive and stated that if I read that root canals are a breeding ground for bacteria, and can be the cause of autoimmune disease, that it was a lie.
I believe the difference is the understanding of other illnesses caused by mouth issues. I feel much more comfortable going to this biological dentist than I do my regular dentist. And my regular dentist is a super nice guy. We chat for a while every time I come to see him. But, he is not informed about
Lyme. The biological dentist looks to be somewhat versed in many areas of autoimmune disorders. He is looking out for my overall health by working on my mouth issues.
