Andrographis

I was reading Buhners 2nd edition and he recommends andrographis in the core protocol but he states all the side effects. It just sounds very scary. Any opinions on this?

I have been taking it for just one year now with no issues at all.

I have just begun to alternate it , llmd wants me taking it every other month now.

Buhner does list all the known allergic reactions, but also states that it is relatively safe. The studies showed that maybe 10 people out of thousands in the study had any issue with it and there were no fatalities.(Bottom of p.369, 2nd edition Healing Lyme).

As with any herbal, always take only one drop of tincture at first for a few days to see how you respond.
You can always build up slowly after you are sure you have no side effects/allergies to any herbal.

Check herbals for side effects and contradictions.

You are right, in the new book its part of the core protocol.

I take it daily, no side effects all.

It has worked well for me. It just has an AWFUL bitter taste. I take 2 grams 3x daily. But this is pure powder, not encapsulated.

I take it. But, I'd start slow. I tend to jump head first into most things. I did with the herbs. And I blame the andrographis for a bit of anxiety. I backed down to two "00" sized caps three times a day instead of five and worked my way back up relatively slowly and was fine. Other than that, it's all good.

That's the main issue but buhner listed a bunch of other probably rare side effects on page 370 in the 2nd edition.
