Anyone else scared to go outside?

Since my tick bite in August, I don't even want to go outside. I picked up a tick either in my yard or on my road I've walked a million times. There's lyme at my home. I've always been very outdoorsy, until recently...
I feel like I'm experiencing symptoms of PTSD, it's ridiculous.. no amount of bug spray makes me feel safe. I don't want my kids out, my husband... Is this a temporary fear? Will I ever get past this?

Your not alone in feeling this way. I was very fearful for along time , it is PTSD.

It has gotten better, but I am very careful and take serious precautions.

I always tuck my pants into my socks and I spray with permethrin, if I'm going to be in woods or sampling water at the watershed for work. I also duck tape around were my socks and pants meet when I tuck them in.

I tuck my white long sleeve shirt and spray around my waist and wear a treated long sleeve shirt over that and a hat that s been sprayed.

My shoes are sprayed .

Then I spray bug spray with deet into my hand and proceed to wipe it around my neck and behind my ears and my hairline.More than once.

I also bought 2 cats flea and tick collars to put around my ankles .

I take a shower and scrub after being in woods or an high exposure area.

I always do tick checks after being out and keep checking.

I will not walk across any grass without spraying.

Yup, It's crazy but I dont want to get reinfected.

Yup, I should by stock in the company that makes the spray.

Just so you know that it does get better, I took a class a few weekend ago on Topographical maps,compass and survival.
I made it through the program and got the certificate.

I was out in the woods and brush most of the day. I was a bit apprehensive, but I didn't panic.

I would not have been able to do this last fall or winter, too scared of ticks and Lyme and co.

I just was very careful and so far no signs of any bites.

I just ordered some astragulus actually Tincture for me and capsules for my husband.
I always loved my little house in the woods... This has made me so angry.
I bought the oils for Buhners bug spray recipe and we use deet, but I'll be adding the duct tape idea to the mix. Saying I'm terrified to go out is putting it lightly. I hate this..

I’m the same! I was never outdoorsy to begin with and actually got bit when I went to the park where my brothers ashes were scattered last year. I was only there for 20 minutes.

Now I have no interest in visiting parks, woodlands etc the thought of it makes me anxious, I took my little one for a walk around the block yesterday and felt nervous when he wasn’t walking on the grass!

I had no recollection of a tick bite when I started to get really sick. Then after learning that my sickness was due to lyme disease I avoided outside. I was never an outdoorsy person but spending all of last summer inside wasn't fun. (Though most of the time i was too sick to leave my bed anyways)
There is also evidence that suggests lyme can be spread sexually and congenital. So nature isn't that only thing we have to be afraid of in terms of getting lyme.

Hi Jo what is the dosage of astralagus that I recommended. I am hoping to come off my abx soon and want to take herbals Just as a safety precaution

I am a nervous mess as well. Terrified to go outside. Spent a year trying to get better. Was practically there and then got bit again in August despite wearing long pants and long sleeves with bug spray all summer except when I was at the beach. I have bad PTSD also. It sucks.

Found out my neighbor got 3 attached just from getting wood from his woodpile. He got 30 days of abx a few days later. No symptoms..but now he says he just grabs one piece at a time into the house instead of an armful.
