Anyone experience burning in lower abdomen?

Im on second month rifampin and have been herxing for a good 2 weeks. It has subsided some. But now I have this burning discomfort in my lower abdomen. It gets pretty intnese. Is this from the bartonella, herxing or something else im wondering. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I also have some bloating and it feels as if my stomach wants to explode.

I wonder if it's just the medication - hard on the tummy.

It's supposed to be taken on an empty stomach....and sometimes we can't tolerate that.


Are you taking it with food or on empty stomach for better absorption?

Taking it an hour before eating. Ive never had this symptom before so it's making me uneasy as it's so uncomfortable and new. I'll try eating more maybe that will help thanks for responding.

I've had some abx okay on an empty stomach at first ...and then after a month or two...i needed to switch to eating before taking them.

I know Rifampin is best on empty stomach.
And at first I took it that way...but then I needed the food in my tummy...or I got a bit of burning.

I'll try taking it after breakfast tomm. See if there is a difference. I dont want to get taken off of the rifampin as it is working for me. Ill be seeing my llmd tomm just in case! Thanks, because I wasn't even thinking it could just be the abx.

Definitely discuss with your LLMD.

The food can reduce it's effectiveness...so he needs to know.
