Bad Herx in Germany

I made my call and started the Lyme treatment two weeks ago as prescribed by my Lyme doctor who is very well reviewed and has been treating for 10+ years. I'm on an herbal regimen for now but will likely move to antibiotics later.

Question:

So I'm currently in Germany and will be for the next 5 weeks overseeing a phase of an IT implementation for a company (a bit more stressful / longer hours than usual, around 15 per day usually). I've been completely fine on the supplements for the past week and a half but Monday I felt a little more sluggish than usual with some tendon inflammation (no biggie, expecting some herx and that isn't out of line with my normal symptoms). This morning I wake up around 4am and BAM.. hands / feet / face are tingling and going in and out of numbness, heart is pounding more than usual, pretty anxious and a little dizzy. It has improved a bit today and I've been working from my hotel as opposed to onsite.

Is this a normal Herx / something to be expected? My doctor/staff isn't great with communication and I can't really head down to his office, seeing as I'm in Cologne.

I've upped my detox support (as of now just activated Charcoal, its really all I have to work with because Amazon apparently won't deliver to the Marriott here) and have pulled off the herbs for now.

Any other suggestions / advice here? Does this sound like a Herx?

Sounds pretty "normal" - although none of this should be deemed normal. But it sounds like a herx. I had plenty of that in the early days.

Detox!! Water, charcoal, lemon water, epsom baths. You can probably find all that in local grocers and local pharmacies.

It sounds like you're on the right track. Backing off the herbs is good. Go easy on yourself. If you can get out to the pharmacies, in Europe I know they have lots of natural supplements, see if they have anything for anxiety (passionflower, lemon balm, chamomile). I usually go for CBD, but I don't know if you can get it over there. You might even try homeopathic.

herxes and flares have identical manifestations.

the difference b/w them is after a herx u feel better than before the herx. after flares u feel the same or worse than before flares. there is no way to know which is which during the event, but only after

many people have flares and are tempted to believe they herxed because of something they did or took, because is much more convenient to know u r winning instead of losing. we are all a generation of winners aren't we? :/

I actually stopped worrying which is which. Far as I'm concerned, they both suck. It was causing me too much anxiety trying to figure out what everything is. There really is no way to tell.

So I chilled on the treatment and have upped detox but the symptoms are still lingering. I'm starting to think it could be adrenal crash / compromised adrenals just from hitting this treatment hard + increased stresses of working 70+ hours a week managing a team in a foreign country. Did you guys support adrenals and the other factors (methylation, neurotransmitters, etc) during treatment?
