Babesia Herx - what's it like?

I saw the other post today about babs herxing. For those who have treated Babesia, especially with abx or something like A-Bab, what is the herxing like? What symptoms came out or got worse?

I had to stop mepron as I was losing my mind, literally. Was on it off and on for about three months and had zero improvement, in fact symptoms were worse and I didn't think that was possible.

My air hunger was so bad I stayed up for days several times because I was sure if I feel asleep I would not wake up again.

The anxiety was off the charts and I had biting/stabbing pains all over.

I told the Dr. I couldn't handle it anymore. I am back on herbals but nothing works. I don't know if my case is normal or I have another co infection keeping me from getting better.

Hi Walking by Faith -

about two weeks into Mepron is when I started feeling its affects. I took it daily along with minocycline for a few months.

I was soaking the sheets multiple times during the night, intense headaches, increased anxiety, difficulty walking any distance (couch to kitchen) due to air hunger and a daily, low-grade night time fever.

But.....once I was through all that, those symptoms went away.

Hoping what ever protocol you choose does the trick for you.

Peppermint Tea

The only time I've herxed with babesia symptoms was when I took sida acuta. That stuff is STRONG. I stay away.

Cryptolepis, artemisia and bidens pilosa all reduce symptoms for me without herx. Sometimes bidens will give me night sweats instead of take them away, though.

In my case symptoms are large joint inflammation, heart/chest pain, and night sweats.
