Opinion on Test Results

New poster with going 5 months symptoms. Dead ends everywhere with Specialist.

I did talk one NP into getting me tested for Lyme and she came back saying test was inconclusive. That was 2 months ago and although original symptoms are not as severe they are coming back each week.

Hoping to see a LLMD soon and decided to get a copy of my lab results.

Looks like a WB IGG came back with 2 bands 93 & 41

WB IGM came back with none

ABS total came 1.11 (Which recommends repeat testing 10 -14 days , which I never had since I did not see this prior)

Symptoms started 3 month prior to this test.

Does this tell me anything conclusive?

I do agree 93 is specific for Lyme I had that as one of the bands on mine. If they ran a western blot then does that mean the ELISA test was either positive or equivocal? It looks like the 1.11 must be the ELISA. If that is the case then LLMD's will find you as positive.

Seeing a LLMD in Chicago today.

I recently listened to IGeneX sales rep talking at Lyme conference (/www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X09pYet3KA). He states that they have been having a lot of viral cross reactivity with 83/93. He did not state which viruses, but I'm guessing the usual - EBV, HHV6, etc. I was actually very shocked about some of the things he says. Just something to keep in mind.

So I was Dr. B in Chicago today.. I have to say I have mixed feelings.

Clearly a unconventional doctor,, which is OK.. but I do have some concerns. It appears his standard protocol is to contact all the doctors I've see to get there results. However I had records for everything.

He wanted to see my Endocrinologist test and it does have a high Norepinephrine reading 84 (out of 16-71 range) and did not really want to peruse Lyme until I had a follow-up with this last specialist.

He not outright refuse to pursue Lyme testing any further but he seems reluctant any only after all other possibilities were crossed off. However I sensed it was a path he did not want to go down.

While I am no longer a member of ILADS, I still work with patients who might have Lyme's related
symptoms, on a carefully conceived protocol, and that is on a case by case basis. Oftentimes, I like to
look at a case from a fresher perspective and have to do more background work and ordering more labs
tests at different labs who deal with Lyme and other types of infectious processes. Sometimes I will call
in an Infectious Disease specialist for further support.

Yes On insurance.

Not sure When or if He calls. I just signed a lot of papers saying he needed contact info and acccess.
