about
6 months ago i noticed a large rash on my left leg the rash would sting when i would touch it, it lasted about
a week, within a week i started to have bad headaches this was followed by a migraine attack 'three migraines in 24 hours. Approximately one week after the rash went away. The next morning after the migraine attack i woke up with changes in my vision such as floaters, Blurred vision. these symptoms have continued for about
6 months until i started to experience new symptoms about
two month ago the new symptoms are bad spaced out feeling, constant dizziness worse when i turn my head or move and dysequilibrium balance problems. the dizziness/spaced out feeling gets worse when its cold. And the latest symptom is loss of feeling in my fingers on my right hand this would last for about
a few minutes and go away.
I first thought that the floaters and Blurred vision where down to the migraine attack but ive come to the conclusion that all the symptoms including the rash are down to Lyme Disease. due to the timing of the symptoms in regards to the rash.
Here is a list of symptoms i have. The symptoms are in order as to when they first showed up.
A large rash that would sting when touched
bad headaches
Blurred vision
Diminished visual acuity in absence of actual vision change
Flashes of light perceived peripherally
floaters not related to migraines
Constant dizziness
Brain fog
Dysequilibrium balance problems
Pressure on top of head
Numbness in fingers
Dyspnea breathing problems for a few seconds
Joint pains
I have been getting migraines for about
10 years but ive never experienced any of the symptoms above until about
6 months ago around the same time i noticed the rash. I will keep the thread updated if new developments occur.
So do you guys think this could be Lyme?

Have you ever been checked by a biological dds?
Do you have much dental work?

Hi Jamie,
I know others will be along to welcome you to the forum, direct you to resources and offer feedback. But, I'm glad you found us.
I can tell you that my experience was very similar to yours -- and I have Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia (the latter are co-infections of Lyme that you can also get from a tick bite). I had a large, circular rash on my left calf. Mine was slightly bluish in hue and was slightly tender to the touch. It faded over the course of a week to ten days.
1 to 2 weeks later, I had a flu-like episode where I was in bed with chills, severe headache, body aches, etc. In the months that followed, I had many of the symptoms you've outlined.
My PCP misdiagnosed my rash as a spider bite. Several months later I pushed for a Lyme test (the first is called an ELISA test), which came back negative. The tests are unreliable. A few months later, I went to the ER with a severe headache and a spinal tap revealed Lyme via a Western Blot test (which is a slight better, though also imperfect test).
My point here is -- yes, this very well could be Lyme and a co-infection like Babesia. The best way you can evaluate your condition is to find a Lyme Literate MD that can assess clinically what your symptoms reflect and rule out what they don't. They will test as well, but seeing someone that understands and responds to symptoms is really important.
If you need help finding an LLMD, others here can offer suggestions based on where you live.

Hi Jamie
Your symptoms are familiar to many of us. They can be from Lyme and/or coinfections. It is difficult to say which infection causes which symptom, because symptoms overlap. And testing is so unreliable. But your list has many I have personally experienced.
