Does the medical literature support chronic Lyme disease?

I finished a new extensive article about chronic Lyme disease. This could be interesting to share with physicians who deny the very existence of persisting infection after treatment according to IDSA guidelines.

Ofcourse it exists and ofcourse is it supported in the medical literature. You now have a solid story with references to share with your physicians.

Added! Thanks. This was the study I was missing with regards to the intracellular persistence. I knew Borrelia could hide inside neurons and glial cells but without the reference to back it up I could not state it in the article.

Yeah, it's kind of shocking to think there isn't more on it. I would have thought that this would have been evaluated experimentally since the brain is a primary target. And I could have sworn that intracellular localization in the brain was a well known thing. But every time I look it up, Miklossys is the only paper i find on it. And everyone seems to think this is an exclusively extracellular pathogen.
