Oxy powder for constipation

Has anyone used oxy powder for constipation? I take a lot of magnesium and yet I'm still constipated. I was thinking of trying oxy powder but wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it first.

I tried it but it took a lot to work. Too expensive for the amount I need. I'm dependent on Natural Calm magnesium citrate. I now take FIVE tsp of that a day. It worries me having to take so much. I don't know if Lyme, bartonella, or other gut pathogens caused mine, but it's one of my biggest concerns. I've had IBS-C now for 2 years and 3+ months.

Thanks WalkingbyFaith, I thought it seemed quite expensive too. Already spending a fortune so I'm glad you were able to share your experience.

Here's something that will almost assuredly bust through your "logjam."

I would suggest the Intestinal Formula #1. The 90-count bottle is $26.

Directions: "Start with 1 capsule daily. Increase by only 1 capsule each day until desired effect is obtained. This formula works best if taken with food. We suggest with or just after dinner."

I used this product, years ago, before I was able to improve my diet, rehab my bowels, and start eliminating regularly. Let me tell you, it works!

It also worked for my best friend - who told lots of others about it. One person was a pregnant woman who had tried several other products to no avail. She had to work up to maybe 2-3 capsules, but she reported success in obtaining the "Desired Effect."

The website also offers Intestinal Formula #1 MAX, but the "regular" Intestinal Formula #1 works so well that I'd be afraid the "MAX" formula would cause me to blow an O-ring.

What kind of magnesium are you taking? There are 9 different types, and while some types work for some for constipation, it doesn't always work for others. I take magnesium oxide for constipation issues that I've lived with nearly my entire life because it pulls water into the colon. I take magnesium orotate for my muscles - and it's working well.

The one thing that I have to be careful of is not causing more intestinal cramping, as that's another major issue with my intestines thanks to these infections. Once they start, it takes days to get it to settle back down and I'm usually bed ridden during that time.

Vitamin C and fish oil have worked well for me they seem to be synergistic with each other. During a flare my intestines will shut down so I will up the vitamin C to 3-5000 mg/day. If it is really bad i will take 3000 mg every 4 hours until I can go.

I'm taking neuro-mag, but tried the mag malate for constipation with no success, I've done citrate as well and it bothers my stomach

As an alternative to my previous suggestion, you could also try some prunes or prune juice. I've never personally tried either, but I've heard many people claim that they work. I'm not sure about the taste, either.

I used prune juice successfully for about 6.5 years until the IBS-C shut my intestines down. It was hard to drink at first but after about 3 days I got used to it. Beware that it has a lot of sugar. If you have candida issues, don't drink it.
