Prescription Parasite Protocol

I'm almost afraid to ask this because of the differing opinions on this topic, but has anyone had success with a prescription parasite protocol?

My doctor is putting me on ivermectin, then albenzo, then alinia. My main concern is digressing after mold, viruses, bacteria, and metals are potentially released from the parasites dying. I'm also concerned with overtaxing my liver. My liver often hurts with just lyme herxing.

I am currently doing a rectal EDTA chelation protocol, so theoretically that should take care of metals that are released. I am currently taking cholestyramine for mold, so that should theoretically help the mold problem. And I am taking Clindamycin and Clarithromycin for lyme. I do coffee enemas every other day with the chelation protocol.

Is there anything that I need to know or need to be doing once I start this protocol? Someone had mentioned binders. Any suggestions for which would be best? My doctor just wrote the script and said have fun. What do I do if I have severe symptoms and cannot get my doctor to respond? I'm clueless. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. @Kat1000, he's the only choice I have really. I can't afford another doctor. This one takes insurance, so that's why I have stuck with him for so long. He's not very responsive, and that's why I am scared to start this without knowing what to do. Other than that I do like him. He's super nice. Just doesn't have enough staff to do a good job responding to his patients.

I have done ParaComplete and Para 1 for a little while. But nothing really intensive. I only did it for like 2-2.5 weeks. I was going to do a simple cleanse like that first, but he came back with a tight timeline that he wants me to be on these meds. He wants me to be on the alinia by like the first of March.

Good point. I do have a good working relationship with my pharmacist, and she's helped me out a lot with medication side effects and responses. Thanks for reminding me of that option.

That sounds like the general parasite protocol that my St. Louis doc uses. Its great and I would bet it will improve your health. Yes-I have done several rounds like that-and at very high doses.

Parasites kept coming back until we fixed dental infection. I would go for it and get this done-you will be healthier on the other side

Doesn't matter what you think about whether you have parasites or not you have to treat for it regardless because of the symbiotic relationship between parasites and Lyme-related infections, without addressing parasites, overall progress in healing may be halted

Dr. J in DC uses Ivermectin and Alinia. Not sure if he uses both but I would imagine for some he does. He asked me last appointment which one I wanted to get started with to hit gut parasites so I chose Alinia as I've been on it and its supposed to be a more powerful anti-parasitical agent than Ivermectin.

So your doctor is basically bringing out the napalm putting you on 3 consecutive anthelmintic class drugs which should blast anything you have going on. If you feel you're herxing too much you can back off on the amount/frequency. I don't even talk to my LLMD when I need to do this as I know my own body and what it can handle. If you have to skip a dose or two I don't see the big deal.

You could try diametreous earth, food grade. I take a dose every day. (away from other meds) It's not rx, that might be a good thing for you. there are natural food antiparasitics too, such as papaya seeds. Nasty but effective.

I believe that is what Dr Y gave me but it was some years ago-to start with. I also did other various combos of antiparasite meds with him.

sorry MA must've missed this thread. with babesia and general parasites a round or two usually doesn't get it done. some reason with these infections it takes a long time to get them all.

i'm doing alinia 5 consecutive days 1 pill 2x/day every month. i'm doing 4 rounds (or 4 months) and seeing my LLMD for a follow up. I expect to be on some type of anti-parasitical treatment for 6-12 months along with adding some persister drugs like dapsone and daraprim.

alinia is crazy expensive in the USA (even with insurance it was $100 a pill) so I went to AllDayChemist and got the same thing for 33 cents a pill.

Rikky1, I guess I’ll have to address that when I come to it. I’m under the impression that my doctor thinks one round will do it.

Is it dangerous to take Alinia every day for a few months? I think that’s the way my doctor prescribed it.
I’ve found a good deal on Alinia for a little while. Until I change insurance in a couple of months. So I’m going to stock up just in case.

When you say you’re doing four rounds, are you doing the same prescription protocol all four times?

I have read that Alinia (Nitazoxanide) is safe long term on Pubmed. Price in the US is $150 per pill. Price in India is 30 cents per pill. God Bless America !
