I've been having health issues for the past couple of years, neurological and otherwise. One test I had in Australia tested positive for Borrelia but can't remember if igg or igm.

about 2-3 months after my symptoms started, I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend. Literally the morning after my girlfriend had tinnitus in her left ear, which is exactly what I have about a couple months later her vision got a bit worse.

Today now, which is 2 years later, my girlfriend told me she had a smudge in her vision. She explained it something like the reflection of a diamond or something when she looks around.

I'm really freaking out for her and not sure what I should do. I'm not on any antibiotics at the moment and was in the process of seeing an LLMD next week on Monday.

If anyone at all can offer any insight at all about this symptom please do.

Hi I had eye issues like that, her description is better than mine was, a smudge says it perfectly.
Mine was always in my lower field of vision.

While I did not have the ringing in my ears I did have thumping/pulsing in my ears.

All have gotten better with ongoing treatment. It always occurred more when herxing too.

Check for the co infection Bartonella.

It is also wise to make an appointment withe an eye specialist just to rule out other issues.


In my case my eye MD said no issues with eyes so it was Lyme and co infections.

I had an episode of optic neuritis in one eye from neuro Lyme: what reversed it was mainly Bicillin injections. This doesn't sound exactly the same though, and could be another very serious condition -- retinal detachment, etc. Who knows. Please do go to an opthalmologist (not just the ER or a reg doc: w/ emerency symptoms an opthalmologist will squeeze her in but do do ER if someone can't) and get it looked at. An opthalmologist could rule out dangerous visual symptoms pretty quickly.

Bartonella is associated with a ton of eye issues too, it's actually a pretty standard symptom in the medical literature, and treatment would be different (bart-specific).
