severe head pain

Me again! So I am now going on week 3 of a hellish flare up (thinking perhaps Bartonella, but no idea any more)! I had stopped all treatment and things weren't getting better. The odd thing though is I'd have some periods (short ones) throughout the day where I felt somewhat normal. My llmd had me restart doxy since being off treatment didn't seem to make a difference. I have never had any herx anytime on doxy, seemed to do just fine on it the many stretches I've used it. Yesterday I felt somewhat ok for a few hours and even slept quite well. This morning I woke feeling exhausted and achy. My head feels like someone took a bat to it especially in the base, it's so, so bad! My neck too has been very achy and tight and I've been dizzy and extra blurry in my vision. Not sure if this is just another part of this intense flare I've been having. Shouldn't things be getting better instead of worse? I want this nightmare to end! I just need a stretch where I feel somewhat 'ok', I know good is out of the question but just somewhat ok so i can regain a bit of strength and hope...which I feel like I'm losing!

Here is what I'm taking to try to get some relief: magnesium, l-theanine, skullcap, neuro antitox, pinella/burbur, cyflacalm, chlorella. I took 2 aleve as well hoping it might do something. I took an epsom salt bath with no relief!

I am taking herbs, Buhner type protocol along with enzymes and a few other things. I too get the terrible headaches, base of neck pain, blurred vision and so on (and I mean terrible). Not sure how much of what I do helps and how much, but I drink a good amount of lemon water during the day, drinking dandelion tea, do the epson salt baths, take magnesium and now have started dry brushing as well. The head pain is not as bad now for sure. I backed off of some of my stuff for a day or so and slowly ramped up again. I feel it is all related to herx. I had a bad four days a couple of weeks back and felt the same as you do. Loosing. But that passes and we carry on.

Sadly, I am not entirely sure. I believe Lyme. I am in Canada and am seeing a LLND, but I perhaps feel that she is not quite as experienced in Lyme as I had hoped. She also suggested that I have relapsing fever as well? I take a version of Buhners and am hoping for the best. I was getting the terrible headaches in the last couple of months before I started treating, it was one of my last symptoms. I have been sick for over 5 years. If I don't see any improvement in another 6 months or so, I will have to head to the US and seek help there.
Perhaps I lean towards Herx more than flare up, simply for my mental health! Makes me feel better (mentally) to think that I am getting better and not worse!

Tony your symptoms sound like mine at the start of treatment.. the head and neck pain the dizzyness and blurry vision were the worst along with some severe cognitive disfunction..

Minocycline made a massive difference with these symptoms for me.. Have you ever tried it?

Spanish- I found minocyclinevto cause dizziness, so I'm not super keen on trying it, I took it only a couple times. How long have you been doing treatment?

Sickofbeingsick00- have you tried kudzu, walkingbyfaith mentioned it helped with headaches, I might give it a try. If it helps I'll let you know!

I'm doing buhner herbs and I have some of the same problems that you are having. I noticed that it may take. A little longer to get on track. Or talk with your Dr. Use your intountion and go with it. If I would have I wonder how much of this I could have prevented or made a shorter treatment peroid. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
