My new doctor believes that my strong herxing, sensitivity, and frequent urination are mold related and recommended that I detox with PectaSol-C/treat the mold prior to treating the Lyme. I am only taking 1 capsule every other day and am itchy, with hives on my feet, and red spots all over my legs. Has anyone taken this supplement before, and any idea what might be causing this response?

Are you taking anything else new? I would stop and see if it goes away. I am sensitive to a lot of stuff but was fine with modified citrus pectin. Took it for almost 2 years.

Btw, I have/had frequent urination too. Have you had ADH hormone checked? Mine was undetectable (common with biotoxin illness - whether it be mold or lyme). I took desmopressin every other day for 20 days and it basically reset the hormone. I was no longer going 2-3 x a night. It was truly the only major progress I’ve made in 3 years! Recently had to take an antibiotic again and it almost totally undid the progress I made. Hoping to do the desmopressin again.

I've taken Pectasol-C for almost a year now. I take the powder. I started at 1 gram and worked up to 5 grams at a time once or twice a day. As far as I know, all it is is modified citrus pectin. Unless you're allergic to citrus fruits, I wouldn't think it would cause an allergic reaction. It could cause a herx, though.

What you described definitely sounds like an allergic reaction. You might need to do some sleuthing to see if you can pinpoint what it might be. New socks? New shoes? Did you get a pedicure or your feet or legs rubbed with any kind of new lotion or ointment?

Thanks everyone for the replies and sharing your experiences! It sounds like it has helped many of you, or sounds to have been better tolerated for most of you. I take Chlorella and don't experience any herxing or similar reactions. What exactly does PectaSol-C bind to?

I do think the response is from the PectaSol-C (I'm not allergic to citrus fruits). The only other thing I've added is a castor oil stick that I rub on my neck, supposedly to help with pain (although I haven't noticed any difference). I will skip the castor oil stick just to see if that could be the culprit. I sent my doctor photos and she thinks it's just detoxing and encouraged me to cut back to only twice per week. I was thinking that maybe it targets Bart, which tends to affect the feet (horrible, itchy hives on the bottoms of my feet), but I'm not hearing that is the case.

K07, I haven't had my ADH levels checked, but that's something for me to look into. I wouldn't have guessed to go that route. Sorry you have been set back again with the antibiotics, the issue worsened for me too while on them. Thanks for the recommendation.
